Girl Scout Cookie Sales!

I have some physical materials to distribute at our meeting, but there are many documents available for you to review at: http://girlscoutsgwm.org/general/page/girl-scout-cookies

I've put word out on Front Porch Forum to let our community know of our sale, and I will divide up the responses so that our girls each get to respond to our community members.

The lowdown is:

  1. Boxes are $4, except for the gluten-free toffee ones, which are $5.
  2. Each girl sells individually, and we will also sell as a troop when we do booth sales.
  3. The biggest "push" is this month for girls to get their initial orders in by Please save the date to sell together at Town Meeting Day.  We'll think up other troop booth sales opportunities together.
Girls can sell in the traditional face-to-face way, but they can also sell online and the buyers have the cookies shipped to them!  The online portal for the girls (Digital Cookie) is really fun and I think they'll enjoy exploring it.  As the parent, you will get an email to set up the account and then you will have the login because your girl is under 13.

Why we do this...it's not just about yummy cookies!  Please help your girl to:

1. Set a goal — make a cookie sales goals and a plan to reach them.
2. Decision-making —she decides how she will spend the cookie money.
3. Money management—as she makes a budget, takes orders and handles customers’ money.
4. People skills—as she learns to talk and listen to all kinds of people while selling cookies.
5. Business ethics—as she is honest and responsible every step of the way.
