Sunday meeting time change

Based on our crazy competing obligations, we'll be meeting from 4-5p on Sunday at TBPS.

Jill has keys to the building since I'm not sure we'll be able to be there on time.

The game plan is to have the girls:

-create invitations for the community camporee (for our lifetime members)

-let them know how much money they've earned for the troop and that we're going to Jay Peak Waterpark on Sat., June 11 because of their hard work. $20/girl and $28/adult - troop will pay for registered adults/girls.

Max amount coming out of the troop account for this trip is $240 (girls) + $168 (adults) = $408.

We had also committed to renewing girl and adult memberships next year, which would mean reserving $360 (girls) + $90 = $450.

-So, we need to ask the girls for their ideas on how much to keep, spend, donate, etc.

-We would also like to collaborate with the girls to name/assign all the jobs for the tea party on May 15 and describe what their responsibilities are.

That's all for this week! If it's decent weather after the meeting, I'm interested in driving to Hope Davey to check on the geocache and do a few Venture Vermont activities...come join if you're interested!

Venture Vermont

Here is the link to Venture Vermont - it is editable online before you print and you need one per person.  You can have group (family) photos, though.

Each activity has a points value and when you get to 250 pts, you get a free state parks pass for this year and next!

Our troop has already completed:

-go for a hike (10 pts)

-climb a tree or boulder (probably! 5 pts)

-try geocaching (15pts)

There are several others that I bet you have already done!  I'm hoping we can have the girls get together to do some of these on an impromptu basis!  As we discussed last night, if we can get at least 2 families together for badge/VV activities, please let the rest of the troop know of your plans so that we can join as our schedules allow!

Have fun!

Notes from Adult Meeting - April 6, 2016

April 23: Amy has extra tickets to the Girl Expo and Carmen & Madison are attending right now.  River is undecided.

May 7: Green Up Day

May 14: Twin Hills Camporee (Community-planned event), 7-9pm.  Amy is going with her girls - anyone else?  This is the event we were asked to make cards for at the upcoming girl meeting.

May 15: Tea Party at Senior Center!  Will brainstorm the girls' "jobs" at the upcoming meeting so that they can feel prepared.

June 4: Girls on the Run - please register to participate, even if your girl is not part of the school program!  It will be great to walk/run/wog together!

June 11: Troop at Jay Peak Water Park - all registered girls' and adults' admission will be paid out of troop proceeds from cookie sales.  Other family members are welcome to join ($20/child and $28/adult).  We will use the first 1/2 hr as an end-of-year ceremony to distribute badges.  Please arrive by 10:30am.  We don't have a particular departure time.

June 25: Not Quite Independence Day Parade (11a) - Ricci will look into a trailer for us to decorate

Jill will take care of invitations to tea party and use the Google Voice phone number (Amy will provide).  Includes notice in newspaper, flyers (that we will each hang up), Front Porch Forum, etc.

Hayley provided printouts of badge sheets for each level of girl.  If you weren't there or would like the link, please contact her!

Hayley will also be sending out thank you cards or creating them with the girls.

Everyone: please let Amy know what badges your girls have earned by June 1.  Also, if you and one other parent would like to plan an activity, just let the rest of us know...we'll see who can join for impromptu gatherings over the summer!

Badge Ideas Discussed:
-Girls on the Run (Practice with Purpose)
-Venture Vermont (lots of different outdoorsy/Leave No Trace activities)
-Trip to Pastabilities (Nicole)
-Ricci mentioned education around the Syrian refugee situation

April 9 overnight

Adult Meeting this Wed.

Just a reminder that we have an adult planning meeting at Cork on Wednesday at 6p to prep for our girl meeting this Sunday at 3p.

Since we are not doing the tea party until May, I'd like to suggest we do a follow-up hike to our geocache at the end of the meeting. I'm sure Jill has some other activities to prep for the tea party, and bring any ideas you have hatching!
