This is some communications I had with a volunteer coordinator below… I met with Natalia and Carmen (and Celia by coincidence) at the library. They are eager to do a fundraiser and have a few ideas. Here is a link that I need to explore further but we can save bags or bottle caps and send them in to be recycled and redeemed. Items that are not usually recyclable... I've already started saving cereal bags. Maybe we can get school friends to collect over the summer. Carmen said Bake sale and I said, please no but it's on the table. haha. And Natalia thought we could ask to put donation jars at the book fair or other locations. Whatever we do, I really feel that the main objective is raising awareness and promoting acceptance. We have the Agents of Change Journey book and thought maybe we could gear this toward fulfilling that piece.

Hi Nicole
The 2nd Tuesday at 12:30 and the 3rd Wednesday at 5:30 every month is an orientation. If you want to bring together troops in the area we can schedule a special orientation.
Thanks
Laurie

Hi Laurie, Unfortunately, no one from our group was able to make it to the meeting. I hope it went well. Will there be continuing meetings? I will sign on to the Rutland Welcomes Slack group and try to get caught up. Thanks.
Nicole

Hello, I saw your name and email on the Rutland Welcomes page. I live in Waterbury and my daughter is part of a small troop of Girl Scouts who have an interest in learning how we can help. (Our group is about 6 girls and at least a few adults). Can you keep us in mind and we will try to keep a look out for opportunities to get involved? Thanks.
