Culminating Event- Tea party at the senior center- Please vote for a date and time.

 We're having a party!

If you weren't able to join us on Monday you weren't able to hear the exciting news...We're having a tea party at the senior center in Waterbury! For the next few meetings we will be working towards this event by making invitations, learning about proper etiquette, preparing for speaking with new people and building community connections that will continue to grow. We are working on a date for some time in April with the center and need you to complete the poll that can be found at this link:

We will use this poll to plan our event and your response is critical in ensuring that we have as many girls there as possible. Please respond to this poll by March 2nd. I will contact the senior center and confirm a date on the 3rd.

Tips for using digital cameras:

Common Digital Camera Modes
Most digital cameras have a variety of shooting modes, each one designed to adjust the camera for a specific situation.
Automatic: When in doubt, keep your camera on Automatic.  In this mode, the camera will “think” for itself to take the best picture.
Portrait: This is a great mode to use when taking a picture of a single person or object.  The camera keeps your main subject in focus, and blurs the background.
Landscape: Use this mode when taking photos of distant things, like mountains.  The camera tries to keep all subjects, both near and far, in focus.
Macro: This mode lets you focus on subjects close by.  Use macro mode when taking pictures of bugs, flowers, and other small objects.
Night: Try this mode in low-light situations.  The camera will likely use a flash to make sure your subject is properly lit.
Sports: This mode is perfect for action, and sets the camera to take photos of fast-moving objects.
Movie: In this mode, the camera takes digital video.  Some cameras can only capture short videos, while others film until the camera’s memory storage fills.

Activities Beyond Cookies!

Those of you who are registered in the troop will get a notification that our troop is volunteering at Camp Farnsworth on April 30 - if you are not able to participate, you can just cancel at the GSGWM website (https://gsusa.ebiz.uapps.net/vp/Home.aspx).

Where there are free opportunities for us to mingle with other Girl Scouts or see new places, I’ll hop on them!  We can talk more about these as we get closer to the time!

Additional Cookie Booth Information

We now have 3 dates for cookie sales, and we need you to sign up for shifts at http://vols.pt/zhRGNX!

Each date is a different location, and so far we have:
  1. Feb. 27 - Ben & Jerry's
  2. March 1 - TBPS for Town Meeting Day
  3. March 12 - Cork for a Cookie & Wine Pairing
More dates to come, but I expect to pick up our Initial Cookie Orders on the weekend of the 27th.  Cookie Cupboard open before then, so I'll pick up our supplies for Ben & Jerry's before then.
